Fifth Annual Teaching as Civic Engagement Conference

Community Violence: What is an Educator's Responsibility?

The Tufts University Department of Education invites you to its Fifth Annual Teaching as Civic Engagement Conference, on Saturday, November 6, 2010, a forum for current students, alumni and friends of the department to discuss difficult issues that matter in education.

At the conference, participants will view a thought-provoking independent film made by Silas Pinto, Lecturer in School Psychology; hear from an amazing group of panelists who work as teachers, community organizers and nonprofit leaders; and discuss gang life, interpersonal and institutional violence, and just what we, as educators of all types, can do to make a difference.

A suggested donation of $10 to cover conference expenses can be made at the conference. Check or cash only.(Please make checks payable to: "Trustees of Tufts College")
